For ponies, 4 years old and over, to be shown in-hand by children aged 7 to 13 years on the 1st January of the current year. Handlers must wear correct dress, with the correct jacket, for their chosen category, including the recommended hat. The marking sheet will include the types of pony, i.e. Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS – HORSES AND OTHER EQUINES
Premises Registration
As from 1 May 2012, any premises (which includes shows, fairs and markets) where horses or other equines are gathered must be registered with the Department. Owners/persons in charge of such gatherings are required to submit a completed application form for registration and to keep records of movements on/off their premises.

Equine Identification
All Equines (which include horses, ponies and donkeys) must be identified in accordance with EU and national legislation.

The above will be judged on the ability of the handler to present and show the pony to best advantage. Ponies entered in thIs class must also be entered in their relevant riding class on the same day.
